The Pain Institute of Tampa Bay is dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions which have not resolved in the expected time with routine medical treatment. Our physicians are medical doctors who specialize in treating both acute and chronic pain, including back pain, neck pain, knee pain, sciatica, fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and pain from sports injuries and auto accidents.

Dr. Edgar Ramirez-Pagan is a specialist in pain management who has cared for people with difficult and chronic pain problems since 2003. They are dedicated to relieving their pain and suffering as much as possible. We accept patients on referral from their primary physician or other health care provider or from their insurance provider or attorney.

We are able to provide treatment for a wide range of painful conditions using a variety of approaches. Treatment options range from relatively conservative treatments such as medication management, physical therapy and psychological (behavioral) treatment or injection therapy, to the most aggressive treatments involving nerve destruction procedures (neurolysis) with RFTC. Holistic medicine approaches are available as well, for those who prefer this alternative.

Many procedures can be performed on site in our specially equipped office, and our physicians also have admitting privileges at several area hospitals. Whatever treatment is chosen, the goal remains the same: to optimize the patient's function and give him or her a more independent, productive and enjoyable quality of life.
